HOW I REMOVED ACNE FROM MY FACE | My Honest Journey
As someone who has battled with acne and painful cysts—especially on my side cheeks—I know how deeply it can affect confidence. At one point, people around me, including relatives and friends, would constantly ask, "What happened to your face? You used to look so beautiful."
It hurt. As if I wanted acne on my face.
From 2021 to 2022, I had the worst acne of my life. But today, I don’t have a single pimple—just a few very light scars that are barely visible. My skin is clear, and I’m finally at peace.
I’m writing this post to honestly share what actually worked for me. No promotions. No fancy skincare routines. Just real, raw, simple steps that helped me heal. Maybe it can help someone else too.
Step 1: I Quit Chemical Products
Like everyone else, I started with online searches and ordered trendy skincare products. I even bought a salicylic acid face wash, hoping it would help—but it didn’t. My acne kept growing.
On top of that, I have PCOS, and my acne would flare up more whenever I missed my periods. That’s when I decided to stop using all chemical-based products completely.
Instead, I started washing my face with wheat flour (atta) every night. It sounds simple, but it helped my skin breathe and recover slowly.
Step 2: I Stopped Sleeping on a Pillow
This one is a game-changer and not talked about enough.
I noticed my acne was worst on the sides of my cheeks. I realized the pillow I slept on was pressing into my skin for 6–8 hours every night. That constant pressure affects blood circulation and traps heat, sweat, and bacteria.
So, I stopped using a pillow altogether. If you can’t stop, at least make sure your cheeks aren’t pressed. Try sleeping in a way that your face gets fresh air.
Step 3: Ice Therapy + Wheat Flour + Soap Swap
Along with wheat flour, I started applying ice on my face regularly. It reduced inflammation and gave my skin a calming effect.
Later, I came across a product that worked wonders for me:
Modicare’s A1 Aloe Vera Soap (Sofwash)
Yes, it’s that simple. After trying an expensive face wash from the same brand with zero results, I randomly tried their aloe vera soap—and my skin felt better in just 2–3 days. So I continued using that soap, along with ice and wheat flour packs occasionally.
Step 4: Cold Water Only (Especially at Night)
This is another tip that helped me a lot—washing my face with cold water only, especially during summers and before going to bed. It closes pores and refreshes the skin without stripping it.
How Long It Took Me
Honestly, it took a full year for my skin to return to normal. There were
What I Use Now (Post-Acne Routine)
Currently, my skincare is very minimal:
-
Aqualogica Vitamin C Face Wash
-
Aqualogica Vitamin C Sunscreen (Don’t skip sunscreen!)
-
Occasionally: Mamaearth Rice Water Moisturizer (I find it a bit heavy , I only apply it when i feel face is very dry.)
-
Vitamin C serum if possible in day after facewash
That’s it. No heavy layers. No 10-step routines. Just a few products that suit my skin.
Final Thoughts
This was my acne journey.
It wasn’t perfect, it wasn’t fast—but it was mine. Everyone’s skin is different, and so are their healing stories.
If you're going through acne, please know that you’re not alone. You’re still beautiful. Your skin does not define your worth.
If you have your own acne story or tips, feel free to share with me. I’d love to hear from you ❤️💗
